Crochet – Free Dinosaur Granny Square Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern ✨🦕 Perfect for nurseries, baby showers, or little dinosaur lovers! Save this post and get crocheting! 🧶💕 🧶 Materials: • Worsted weight yarn (4 weight) – Cream (main square color) – Mint green – Teal – Peach • 5.0 mm (H) crochet hook • Tapestry needle • Scissors • Stitch marker 📏 Finished Size: Approx. 36” x 36” (9 squares total – adjustable!) 🧵 Granny Square Base (Make 9) Using Cream: Round 1: Ch 4, sl st to form ring. Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in ring. Ch 2, 3 dc in ring, ch 2 repeat 3 times. Sl st to top of ch 3. Round 2: Sl st to corner space. Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same space. Ch 1. In next corner: 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. Ch 1. Repeat around. Sl st to top of ch 3. Round 3–5: Continue granny pattern: 3 dc in each side space, and (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in each corner. Fasten off after Round 5. 🦕 Dinosaur Appliqué (Make 9) Using desired dino color: Body: Ch 11 Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (10). Ch 1, turn. Row 2: Sc across (10). Row 3: Dec, sc 6, dec (8). Row 4: Sc across. Fasten off. Head shaping: Attach yarn at one end. Sc 3, hdc 2, sc 2 to form rounded head. Tail: Attach yarn at opposite end. Ch 3, sl st back into base stitch. 🦴 Spikes (Bobble Stitch) Join spike color along the back. Bobble stitch (bo): Yarn over, insert hook, pull up loop, yarn over pull through 2 (5 times in same stitch), yarn over and pull through all loops. Work 4–5 bobbles evenly across the back. Fasten off and weave ends. 👀 Eye Detail Using black yarn or embroidery thread: Add a small French knot or stitch for the eye. 🧷 Assembly Center dinosaur onto each granny square. Sew securely using matching yarn. Join squares using whip stitch or single crochet join (3×3 layout). Add optional border: Simple Border: Round 1: Sc evenly around entire blanket, 3 sc in corners.
